GIF Animation ContestCongratulations to Emily - our GIF animation contest winner!J-Pop World had a GIF Animation Contest from January 21st to February 21st, 2009. First prize was 6 Japanese music CDs and a permanent credit and link at the website. Congratulations to our first prize winner, Emily! (Checkout her MySpace page.) Here was her winning entry:

First prize will be 6 Japanese music CDs* and a permanent credit and link at the website. All worthy entries will have their gif posted at our website's Contest Page (where you can see some of our submissions so far) along with the creator's link (if they want). The task: Create an animated gif logo for J-Pop World. The need: To show in snazzy gif animation fashion that J-Pop World covers ALL forms of Japanese music, not just J-pop. The concept: From the starting words "J-Pop World" we want to see the "Pop" get replaced in some way by the following words in sequence: Rock, Punk, Rap, Jazz, Metal, Gothic, Traditional... The specs: We like Photoshop's Banner font, but it is not required. We like the white font color using the background color #oo66ff (0 102 255), but again it is not required. We'd like the size to be either 170 x 170, 200 x 120, or 200 x 60, but are open to anything if it looks good.

The deadline: All entries must be received by February 21, 2009. How to enter: Send your gif submissions with "GIF Contest" in the subject line to either comments@j-popworld.com or to our MySpace page. Our advice: Save your animation file. If we like what we see, we might ask you for a different size or small change. On collecting your prize: The first place winner will need to provide a mailing address (obviously) to receive the CDs after they have won. You may of course decline, and the prize will go to the 2nd place winner...
